BIOGRAPHY
Eyedrop, formed in 1997, took their first stumbling steps towards a world of sound in a damp basement in Lund. After years of hard toil and keeping to themselves a distinct sound started to emerge through the noise and alarm. Sticking to a concept of mixing sweet harmonies with strange melodies and gentle dynamics the band started producing songs with lots of nerve.
In 2000 the band moved to Malmö and things started to fall into place. A self-titled EP was recorded in the summer of 2001, which became widely appreciated by journalists, bookers and fans. Eyedrop established themselves as a very promising underground alternative act.
In an attempt to provide their growing group of fans with something more than just demo tapes, the band invested in some used studio equipment and recorded what would become their debut album You and me vs. the machine. After a small-time release on their own label TurnitOFF the band found a partner in Dead Frog Records.
Eyedrop gives a thrilling live performance and have performed at many of the better-known clubs for new bands in Sweden. They have also been booked as support act for established artists at sold out concerts. They performed at the Rookie02 festival in Hultsfred and have competed in several contests for new bands.
Their music seems both fragile and bombastic and the sound is located somewhere between British melancholic pop and American experimental rock. The members of the band consider eyedrop a long-term project and dont seem very interested in a star-over-night-career. Nevertheless, their songs have a nerve that can penetrate the hardest of shells and every day their music attract more and more listeners and they have not yet received a bad review.
