BIOGRAPHY
After touring in Japan and releasing the album Footsteps on a Japanese label, Josefina Andersson returned to Sweden in the winter of 2001. Shortly after her return she met songwriter/musician/producer Andreas Alfredsson and together they worked on the single The Things You Told Me. This was released in Josefinas name in the spring of 2002, and became the theme tune for the Swedish feature film, Den Osynlige (The Invisible), to which Andreas composed the score. Their working relationship developed, and the result was Waver.
With sweeping melodies and delicate guitar lines, their music has been described as being the soundtrack to Swedish winters and the landscapes of Josefinas home in the north of Sweden. The interaction between the two voices has become one of Wavers trademarks, and characteristic for this are their vocal harmonies. When playing live, their shows range from a simple line-up with the duo alone on stage with their guitars, to a larger group with additional musicians playing as a full band.
During the last year, Waver have focused on recording, working in various studios, including the legendary Tonteknik Recordings in Umeå in the north of Sweden. They are currently recording their debut album, which is due to be released in April 2004. |
