BIOGRAPHY
Wild Evil Entertainment Dept. rised from the ashes of Weed in 2002 - a band originally founded in Copenhagen, Denmark, by singer Asger Westh.
Weed released the EP 'The Galaxy is too Good for Me' on their own label in 2001. It was very well recieved by the Danish media, and the title track was hailed as one of the best Danish rocksongs ever...
Weed was never an easy ride and after a series of gigs in Denmark and Iceland involving all kinds of problems and several different line-ups the band decided to call it a day. Asger Westh and the icelandic guitarist Einar Helgi Thorsteinsson went on looking for new partners in crime with a passion for liquid lyrics, punkrock and rock'n'roll and teamed up with Rasmus Holmboe (guitar) and Mads Hvidt (drums).
After recording the single 'Alpha Boy/Beta Girl' for a compilation featuring bands from Denmark, Sweden and Australia bassplayer Lars Skov came onboard, and at the end of 2002 Wild Evil Entertainment Dept. entered the stage for the first time - supporting the former members of The Jesus and The Mary Chain in Freeheat at Loppen, Christiania.
Ever since things have been going fast. Wild Evil Entertainment Dept. toured in England and Scotland several times in 2003 - including a showcase at 'In The City Unsigned' in Manchester and the first demos began to get airplay on different British radiostations.
The band did a short UK-tour again in the Spring 2004 and has recently signed a contract with the Danish label Cph-sound for the selftitled debut 'Wild Evil Entertainment Dept.'
The album will be out in Denmark and Sweden by October and tour dates for Denmark, Norway, Sweden and UK during the fall and the beginning of 2005 will be announced at the website.
