OUR POLICY

WE’RE HERE TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Dead Frog Records is a company that has and implements social awareness and values in a youth-based environment. These are key terms when talking about the way we work.

INTERNET
Dead Frog Records has set a goal to be a front-runner in the new distribution technology. We’ve been putting and selling songs on the Internet since 1994 and intend to continue with this. We want to give our audience the freedom to gain access to our music both from the Internet and by the traditional methods of record stores.

We believe that piracy, in controlled forms, can be good for some sorts of marketing and promotion. Having said this, we are against the theft of material where there is no promotional gain to the artist.

We accepted long ago that the Internet is the new platform for the distribution of music, and we’re prepared to sacrifice a certain amount in royalties for us to make a statement in this issue.

We are giving away music, but we believe that this will be beneficial to our artists and the music industry in the long run. We hope that other record companies will eventually adjust to the more modern standards which have been practised by us for many years.

GENUINE MUSIC
Thanks to associations such as ABF, Studiefrämjandet and TBV, there are many talents born in Sweden every year. Unfortunately, the multi-national record companies only seem to want totally controllable products. It’s a shame that they don’t recognise the many talented artists already in front of them.

We believe in genuine music performed by genuine musicians, therefore, all our artists write and perform all their material themselves. We do not use external songwriters. Our artists always play and sing themselves on their recordings, and always perform live at gigs.

GLORIFICATION OF VIOLENCE, DISCRIMINATION AND SUCH MESSAGES
We strongly distance ourselves from music with violent, racist, sexist and discriminatory content, and music that’s associated with or could be strongly connected to non-democratic political groups.
